Dr. Anderson sees patients aged 16 and older in individual therapy and couples therapy sessions several days a week his Concord, Mass., office. Applying his expertise in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, psychopharmacology, neurobiology, trauma therapy, sensory motor psychotherapy (SP), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Dr. Anderson specializes in treating:

  • Single-incident trauma

  • Complex traumas

  • Dissociative identity disorder

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • Autism spectrum disorders (ASD)

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues.

The IFS therapeutic model suggests that each of us is comprised of separate but interworking "parts" meant to harmonize together like an internal family but which are often in conflict with each other. Using IFS therapy, patients are guided to conduct a dialogue with their parts and access an oasis of inner calm and self-awareness, which sets the stage for permanent healing of emotional wounding.
