Why this group exists
Training gives you a strong framework. What it cannot cover is every situation you will face once you begin using it with real clients: a client dissociating during unblending, a protector that will not step back, a case with legal or ethical complications, or your own parts making it difficult to stay in Self.
These questions are hard to resolve in a workshop because they depend on the details of the client, the relationship, and the moment. In this group, you bring the actual case to Frank and four other clinicians who can help you see what is happening and think through what to do next.
The group is small enough for every clinician to present cases. It meets long enough for people to become familiar with your work and caseload. And because the same clinicians return each month, you can build on previous conversations instead of starting from the beginning every time.
Inside a session
Each month the group meets for two hours and works through four cases submitted in advance. Frank guides each one, asks the questions that open it up, and then teaches from whatever principle the case surfaced — trauma and dissociation examined through both a theoretical and a practical lens.
Arriving
A grounding meditation to move you out of the week and into the room. You have spent the month holding other people. This is a space where you are held.
The work
A participant presents. Frank works the case in conversation, uncovering the dynamics and the sticking points, then draws out the clinical principle underneath it.
Closing
A closing parts meditation before you go back to your day, so the session settles rather than sitting on top of everything else.
The schedule
Every session runs 12:00–2:00 PM Pacific · 3:00–5:00 PM Eastern
Your registration covers the full series. Sessions are not recorded, so plan to attend live.
Who this is for
Who you will be working with
A Harvard-trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist, and a lead trainer and international author in Internal Family Systems. For three decades Frank has worked at the intersection of neuroscience and psychotherapy, specializing in the treatment of trauma and dissociation.
He is unusual in being both psychiatrist and practicing psychotherapist, which is part of why consultation with him tends to move between the neurobiology, the parts work and the practical decision in the room without treating those as separate conversations.
Details
Yes, we will review 4-5 cases during each group meeting. Every participant is encouraged to bring at least one case over the course of the consultation group series. Cases are submitted in advance and Frank selects the order. Presenting is where most of the learning happens, and the group is capped at twenty-four specifically so that everyone gets a turn.
No, these sessions are intentionally not recorded to protect participant privacy and the sensitive nature of live case material. Please plan to attend all of the sessions live.
Refunds are honored up to 30 days before the series begins, minus a $100 cancellation fee. After that point all sales are final. Your registration covers the full series and we are unable to offer partial refunds, credits or prorations for missed sessions.
We occasionally run promotions. Refunds or credits will not be issued to match a past or future discount if you registered at a different price.
We hold a small number of scholarship places. If cost is the barrier, write to programs@frankandersonmd.com and ask — the request is confidential and it is asked more often than you would think.
All twenty-four places for the series beginning September 30, 2026 have been taken.
